Amadeus Festival International Design Competition
2025
My submission for the Amadeus Festival International Design Competition, which centered around the theme of metamorphosis. This poster focuses on the movement of metamorphosis. How art is born out of metamorphosis and exists in a perpetual state of change. Using the motif of starlings, a bird close to Mozart’s heart, transformation takes flight. The birds soar far and wide from one end of the world to the next. They fly from line to line, echoing the melodic composition of sheet music. The act of creation itself is metamorphic. A glimmering idea—flapping its wings around an artist’s mind—is made visible and impactful through discipline and intuition. When art reaches an audience, a distinct transformation occurs. An intimate metamorphosis. Where the sound of music becomes a memory, an idea, a profound impression. Mozart admired his starling for this reason. The bird would mimic Mozart’s tunes, igniting a love between the two. There, metamorphosis was a song shared between a man and his beloved pet bird.
